SERVICE SYSTEMS CONSULTATION
& PROGRAM CONSULTATION
The Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) model facilitates service systems change, organizational change, and clinical change simultaneously. Therefore, the Ohio SAMI CCOE provides systems consultation, program consultation, and clinical consultation (see drop-down menu above) to assist state and county boards, community-based service organizations, and public psychiatric hospitals with implementing and sustaining IDDT with success.
STAGES OF CHANGE
The Ohio SAMI CCOE has developed an innovative 40-page booklet that outlines its process of consultation. The booklet is based upon published research and the practice experiences of the CCOE's consultants and trainers. It is titled "Implementing IDDT: A step-by-step guide to stages of organizational change" (see Recommended Resource in right column). The booklet is organized into five stages of change/implementation*. Each stage contains 8 to 12 practical action steps that will help implementation teams fulfill incremental goals during the implementation process. The stage-wise approach is important because it sets a realistic, manageable pace for achieving high fidelity to IDDT and improved outcomes. An implementation team typically includes policy makers, administrators, team leaders, service providers, community stakeholders, and steering committee members, among others.
